What is The Dave Project?

Dave Birch was a friend of our charity founder, Katy, who sadly passed away in May 2022. He lived locally and was a much loved member of the community. Dave was a big believer in looking after our mental health, he was someone who knew the importance of checking in on friends and family and the talking openly about mental health. We want to do something positive out of an incredibly sad situation and let his legacy live on in his local area.

In his memory, we have written a Grief Journal for Children. We want to do this to provide support for children who have experienced the loss of a person close to them. The journals will be a place for children to remember their loved one, express their emotions and process their loss.
